Water Meters for Residential Irrigation Systems Empty Water Meters for Residential Irrigation Systems

Post  Cruiserman Mon Oct 31, 2011 9:21 am

Barry Webb, Belmont City Manager, recently advised that those wanting to install a second water meter for residential irrigation systems may hire a utility contractor who is certified to work on the city system and pay his fees, the cost of a permit, and the cost of the meter kit. He stated that the fees the city charges may be higher and are applicable only if the city does the installation. Gary Gallagher, Lead Development Inspector for Belmont, advises that when tapping into the city lines, it's necessary to use a one and one half inch pipe; smaller pipes mandate that the city do the work.
